Iran and Armenia Sign Key Cooperation Documents to Enhance Bilateral Ties


Yerevan: High-ranking Iranian officials, accompanying President Masoud Pezeshkian on his official visit to Yerevan, have signed 10 cooperation documents in different fields with their Armenian counterparts. The documents, signed in the presence of Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, aim to boost bilateral cooperation in areas such as socio-politics, culture, tourism, industry, education, road and urban development, and health.



According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian and Pashinyan also issued a joint statement related to historical and friendly ties, pledging to continue on a path that benefits both sides. The Iranian president arrived in Yerevan on Monday on the first leg of an official two-nation trip, which will also take him to Belarus. During his visit, Pezeshkian held talks with the country’s prime minister and president after being officially welcomed at the presidential palace on Tuesday.



Before his departure, President Pezeshkian emphasized that expanding relations with neighboring and allied countries is among Iran’s top priorities. He stated that Iran has consistently sought to maintain and improve the highest level of political, economic, cultural, and social cooperation with friendly and neighborly countries, particularly Armenia.



On the first day of his visit, Pezeshkian met with Armenian elites and Iranians residing in the Caucasian nation, further strengthening the bonds between the two countries.
