Islamabad: Iran's Kish Air has launched a new weekly flight route between Mashhad and Karachi, operating every Monday as a round-trip service. The flight departed from the holy city of Mashhad on Monday morning, August 17, with 140 passengers onboard, arriving at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport. Later in the day, almost the same number of passengers were transported back from Karachi to Mashhad.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, is Pakistan's most populous city and has long maintained strong trade, cultural, tourism, political and people-to-people ties with various Iranian provinces. In recent years, Iran's Taban Air has also operated flights between Tehran and Karachi. Last year, direct Tehran-Islamabad flights were officially launched by Iranian airlines Mahan Air and Iran Airtour.
