Pakistan’s Deputy PM Discusses Regional Security with Iranian Ambassador

Tehran: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Iran's ambassador to Islamabad, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, to review bilateral ties and regional developments, as Islamabad reaffirms its commitment to deeper engagement with Tehran through dialogue and diplomacy.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Amiri Moghaddam briefed Dar on progress in bilateral institutional mechanisms and highlighted continued exchanges between senior officials from the two countries. Dar stated that Pakistan remained committed to further strengthening engagement with Iran in key priority areas.

The two officials also discussed evolving regional developments. Dar emphasized that 'dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective way' to address major issues and achieve lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The meeting coincided with Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi's visit to Tehran, where he met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss bilateral issues and regional developments. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Naqvi's visit was part of Islamabad's consultations with Iran to strengthen bilateral relations, security cooperation, and efforts toward regional peace and stability.

The spokesperson also said Pakistan would continue supporting de-escalation, peaceful resolution of disputes, and efforts to facilitate engagement between negotiating parties.
