Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has criticized international double standards on human rights, stating, “Human rights and international organizations are nothing but a lie.” He highlighted the plight of children in Gaza, noting that they are dying of hunger in full view of the world, and questioned the effectiveness of organizations that claim to defend the rights of children and women.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed his concerns during a ceremony on Tuesday. He pointed out the dire situation in Gaza, where basic necessities like water and food have been cut off, describing it as genocide. He accused those who speak of human rights of violating international norms and committing crimes against humanity in regions such as Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
Pezeshkian also addressed the recent 12-day aggression by Israel and the U.S. against Iran, criticizing the attacks on hospitals and residential areas under the pretext of Iran’s alleged development of nuclear weapons. He condemned these actions as targeting women, children, and defenseless civilians.
He further asserted that the enemies aim to prevent Iran from becoming strong and independent. He emphasized the resilience of the Iranian nation, stating that they will not succumb to coercion and aggression, and expressed gratitude for the loyalty of the Iranian people.
