Geneva: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described the atmosphere of the discussions on the third round of talks in Geneva as serious, adding that there is an understanding on most elements of a potential agreement with the US. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Araghchi said that the indirect negotiations with the US delegation in Geneva have entered a more serious and in-depth phase.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the third round of talks was significantly more serious and lasted longer than previous discussions. During this round, both sides addressed key elements that could form the basis of an agreement. The top Iranian diplomat noted, "There is agreement on most of these elements. How to address these elements naturally requires more detailed discussions later. For this reason, it was decided that our experts would have a meeting with the [International Atomic Energy] Agency next Monday. Some technical aspects need to be discussed there to clarify these technical dimensions so that we can make decisions about them in political meetings afterwards."Araghchi further elaborated on the process, stating, "Our next meeting will also be held in about a week, after some documents are prepared and the necessary reviews are carried out. Its exact time will be determined through the contacts we will have."In response to questions about current developments in the region, as well as military pressure and threats, Araghchi emphasized the need for dialogue, saying, "The US must choose either the path of dialogue or the path of confrontation and tension." He added, "What is clear is that Iran's nuclear issue cannot be resolved through military actions. They tried it once and did not get results. This time too, they increased the pressure as much as they could and achieved no result."Araghchi concluded by asserting that reaching a solution through dialogue and negotiations is the only viable path forward, urging parties to refrain from actions that could increase tension and disrupt the diplomatic p rocess.
