Deputy Foreign Minister Reaffirms Iran’s Stance in US Negotiations

Tehran: Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, has briefed members of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on the latest developments in negotiations with the United States, stressing Tehran's commitment to its principles and national interests.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi presented a report on the course of the negotiations, recent developments, and decisions made by Iranian officials and the negotiating team during a meeting with members of the commission. The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the recent BRICS foreign ministers' summit held in India, with the participation of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, as well as the objectives of the Pakistani interior minister's visit to Iran in recent days.

During the session, Gharibabadi outlined Iran's proposed framework presented to the US side, emphasizing the resolve of Iranian decision-makers and negotiators to uphold principles and maintain frameworks aimed at preserving the country's sovereignty and national interests. Members of the parliamentary commission also raised their views and questions during the meeting, with Gharibabadi providing responses and further explanations.

The Iranian proposal to end the war includes the country's insistence on its right to uranium enrichment and peaceful nuclear activities, an end to conflicts across all fronts including Lebanon, the lifting of the US naval blockade, the release of Iranian assets, compensation by the United States for damage caused during the latest war to support reconstruction efforts, the removal of all unilateral sanctions and UN Security Council resolutions, and the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding the Islamic Republic.
