Iran and Pakistan Strengthen Joint Efforts Against Terrorism: FM Araghchi.


Islamabad: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that Iran and Pakistan are set to enhance their collaborative efforts to combat terrorism along their shared borders. This decision was made during his recent diplomatic visit to Pakistan, as both nations seek to address regional security concerns.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi, in an interview with Pakistan’s PTV World Network, emphasized the urgency of this collaboration in light of recent developments in the region. He pointed to the ongoing attacks by the Israeli regime on Gaza and Lebanon as potential catalysts for a wider regional conflict, which both countries are keen to prevent.

During his brief one-day trip to Pakistan, Araghchi expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani government for its strong condemnation of the Israeli regime’s actions against Iran. He underscored the discussions held during the visit, which centered around tackling the pressing issue of terrorism, with both nations agreeing to intensify thei
r efforts to secure their borders.

Araghchi also highlighted the historically positive relations between Iran and Pakistan, advocating for an expansion of bilateral ties, especially in the economic domain. He acknowledged the existing sanctions but was optimistic about devising new strategies and mechanisms to bolster economic cooperation between the two countries despite these challenges.
