Islamabad: The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared the Iran-Pakistan border as a zone of peace and friendship, emphasizing the country’s dedication to combating terrorism and smuggling activities along its borders with neighboring Iran. This commitment was reiterated during a weekly press conference held in Islamabad by Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, who highlighted the collaborative efforts between the two nations to strengthen coordination and achieve shared security goals.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the spokesperson addressed inquiries regarding recent speculations about potential joint military operations on the Iran-Pakistan border. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch dismissed these reports as fabrications by terrorist entities. She affirmed that Iran and Pakistan have agreed to enhance their cooperation and convergence to secure their mutual borders effectively.
During the press conference, Baloch noted that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s recent visit to Pakistan fa
cilitated meaningful agreements between the two countries. She also mentioned that Pakistan’s security forces conducted a successful operation against traffickers within its territory, approximately 30 kilometers from the Iranian border, further demonstrating Pakistan’s resolve to tackle cross-border criminal activities.
Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Hojatollah Ghoreishi, who is leading a high-ranking military delegation in Islamabad, confirmed the longstanding coordination between Iran and Pakistan. His visit aims to bolster defense collaborations and explore new avenues for military cooperation. Ghoreishi also highlighted Iran’s inaugural participation in the upcoming 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) in Karachi, which presents opportunities for enhanced defense, industrial, and technological partnerships between the two nations.
