Geneva: Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi has reaffirmed his country's commitment to facilitating and supporting the ongoing dialogue between Iran and the United States to reach acceptable solutions. His Excellency the Foreign Minister emphasized Oman's consistent commitment to supporting these dialogues, aiming to bridge perspectives and help the negotiations reach sustainable solutions regarding Iran's nuclear program, as stated by Oman's Foreign Ministry.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the statement highlighted a meeting between Al Busaidi and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, which took place in Geneva. This meeting was part of the framework of ongoing indirect Iranian-American negotiations. The two ministers discussed recent developments and reviewed the views and proposals that the Iranian side plans to present in an effort to reach an agreement on Iran's nuclear program.
Oman's Foreign Ministry indicated that Al Busaidi is expected to meet with the US negotiating team to convey the Iranian views and listen to the proposals from the American side. Later, Araghchi will engage in indirect talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
These negotiations, conducted indirectly through the Omani foreign minister, mark the third round of talks, following previous rounds held in Muscat and Geneva. Iran and the US continue these nuclear negotiations as tensions rise, with Washington increasing its military presence near Iran's borders and threatening military action should the talks fail.
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Araghchi expressed optimism, stating that a fair, balanced, and equitable deal is achievable.
