Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has stated that recent US-Israeli attacks on Iran's infrastructure aimed to cripple the nation's economy by targeting its key industries during the Ramadan War. However, he asserted that the resilience of the people and strategic government planning thwarted these efforts.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref highlighted these points during meetings with the managers of Mobarakeh Steel and the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries. He stressed the significant role these sectors play in Iran's economic framework, despite the damage inflicted by the US-Israeli bombings. Aref noted that reconstruction efforts are progressing swiftly and assured that the government would deploy all necessary resources to support these endeavors.
The Vice President emphasized Mobarakeh Steel's pivotal contribution to national progress, not only through its production capabilities but also via its social responsibilities, which have positioned it as a key economic driver. Aref urged the company to devise comprehensive plans to maintain production during crises and to prepare for post-war recovery scenarios.
Moreover, Aref discussed the "War Economy Program" and the "National Economy Resilience Program," crediting these initiatives with helping the administration manage the country amid two imposed wars over the past year. Contrary to enemy expectations, these conflicts have actually enhanced Iran's regional and global standing.
In his separate meeting with the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Corporation, Aref commended their perseverance during the conflict. He criticized the American-Zionist strategy of infrastructure attacks intended to sow chaos, stating that this approach ultimately failed. Aref also highlighted the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting that effective management of this vital passage could mitigate the impact of illegal sanctions on Iran.
