Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Bangladeshi counterpart, Touhid Hossain, engaged in a telephone conversation on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and pressing regional and international issues.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi condemned the actions of the Israeli regime, particularly the deprivation of essential resources such as water and food for the Palestinian people. He emphasized the urgency for Islamic countries to convene an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and leverage international mechanisms to halt the genocide in Gaza and counter the regime’s aggressions.
Araqchi also addressed the Israeli plan to annex the West Bank, describing it as a continuation of the regime’s efforts to annihilate Palestine. He called for coordinated action by Islamic nations to confront the situation in Gaza and provide immediate aid to the Palestinian people.
The Bangladeshi Foreign Minister echoed similar concerns, denouncing ongoing Israeli offenses and highlighting the importance of urgent and effective support for the Palestinian people through the OIC’s mechanisms.
During the call, the ministers also assessed bilateral relations, affirming their countries’ commitment to enhance relations and maintain ongoing consultations.
